Bandylegs has been recently renovated but maintains the traditional character and yet incorporates a contemporary feel to provide a home from home for our guests. The property is centrally heated with double glazed windows throughout. Log burner with fuel supplied for the winter months.
Bodmin Moor on your doorstep offers an abundance of good walks - with woodland trails and cycle routes for all ages at nearby Lanhydrock House and Cardinham Woods. Siblyback lake, a 20 minute drive offers watersports, walks and a cafe for a well deserved cuppa. Equidistant from the coasts, Fowey is the nearest coastal location, with Looe and Polperro a short drive away. Padstow and Port Isaac are a 40 minute drive - famous thanks to Doc Martin!
The mining heritage sites of Minions and Caradon Mines are an easy 15 minute drive away. The Hurlers, Sharp Tor and the Cheesewring are all great walks - so don't forget your walking boots. Bodmin Moor's famous largest Tor (Brown Willy) overlooks the famous smugglers inn, Jamaica Inn. The scenery from the top of the tors is stunning and well worth a visit on a sunny day.
St Neot village is a five minute drive from Bandylegs (or a 2 mile walk). It offers a local shop, a beautiful church, childrens park, gardens and a fantastic old pub, the London Inn, which serves great food. Carnglaze Caverns are a short walk from St Neot.
Bodmin is 10 minutes away by car and offers supermarkets, restaurants and leisure facilities. Lanhydrock golf club, Bodmin Jail, the Camel Trail and Bodmin Steam Railway are all situated in or around Bodmin town.
Bandylegs was built in around 1780. The cottage stands on the old coach road between Bodmin and London. The whole cottage has been renovated recently. There is a woodland theme running through the cottage. It is bright and airy, but maintains the feel of a cosy Cornish cottage.
A gravelled private parking bay, opposite the cottage, provides parking for one car.
The front door opens up into a light and cosy open plan living space, with exposed beams and flagstone floors. On one side of the room is a comfortable 3 seater sofa and single armchair arranged around the log burner. The fireplace's exposed stone adds to the character of this traditional Cornish cottage. Wall mounted TV/DVD with freeview. Logs and coal are provided for the log burner. Unlimited Wifi is available throughout the property. Side tables, table lamps, cosy rugs and comfy seating make this a relaxing place to while away the hours.
On the opposite side of the open plan ground floor is a circular dining table which seats 4 people, (highchair available). There is a comfy armchair under the window shelf with large reading lamp over.
A newly fitted kitchen at the rear of the ground floor has everything you could need. It has a breakfast bar, sink, dishwasher, digital radio, fridge, oven with grill, gas hob etc. There is also a freezer, microwave and washing machine in the utility area. An iron, ironing board and washing line are also provided. A wooden high chair is available for small children too.
All crockery, utensils and the usual kitchen equipment are provided.

Bedside table. Hairdryer provided. Duvets, pillows and all linen provided. Travel cot in wardrobe if required. (This will require bedding as this is not supplied).
Double bedroom with Double bed. Cosy carpet. Large built in wardrobes and storage cupboard. Two bedside tables. Duvet and linen is included. Some games are provided for rainy evenings in the cupboard.
Family bathroom. Bath with shower over. Basin, loo and heated towel rail. Storage cupboard. Towels are all included....and rubber ducks!
South facing enclosed garden with slate chippings. Old flagstones from previous house renovations mark a path to the large shed. Wooden garden table that will seat 6 people. Sun Loungers, sun chairs, garden parasol and charcoal barbeque is included. The rear section of the shed is lockable. Our guests with bicycles can securely store the bikes here. The front part of the shed is often used for drying wetsuits after a hard day at the beach. There are some kids toys and fishing nets in the shed for rock-pooling trips.

We will happily drop you down to the village pub in St Neot and collect you when ready on one night of your stay at Bandylegs!
We also offer a welcome pack for our guests staying for 7 nights. We can either provide a cream tea, with large scones, jam and clotted cream OR all the ingredients for a full English Breakfast. The choice is yours.

The cottage is named after an old cat of ours - who at the end of her very long life had extremely bandy legs. Her real name was Pixie - sadly departed but dearly missed.
